Pathward names David Dieck its 2024 Volunteer of the Year

April 21, 2025 – Pathward’s Volunteer of the Year award recognizes one employee for their unwavering commitment to the betterment of their community through volunteerism. Each year, Pathward selects the winner through a peer nomination process, and they are invited to direct a $5,000 company donation to a charity of their choice.

As we celebrate National Volunteer Week this year, Pathward is pleased to recognize David Dieck, Collections Manager, as our 2024 Volunteer of the Year. Since joining our organization in 2018, David has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to community betterment through volunteerism.

Dieck has dedicated more than a decade to volunteering with Oakland HOPE, a Michigan-based nonprofit focused on alleviating hunger and empowering lives in Oakland County. His efforts include serving food to those experiencing food insecurity and volunteering at their thrift store, which funds groceries for families, seniors and veterans. Dieck’s peers commend him for his servant leadership, encouraging colleagues to contribute service hours and donations to Oakland HOPE through our Dollars for Doers program, and inspiring others to support nonprofit missions close to their own hearts.

As part of his recognition, Dieck has directed a $5,000 company donation to Oakland HOPE.

Dieck shared, “In my family, there’s a legacy of volunteerism. I’ve always been very inspired by my father – whenever he saw an opportunity to help, he would. He instilled that value in me, and I have endeavored to model that for my own children. I find that when you give back, it not only supports your community, but it also improves your overall happiness.”

Through Pathward’s Community Impact Program, eligible employees can take 16 hours of Volunteer Time Off each year. Also, by logging volunteer hours, employees can direct up to $480/year to their favorite qualifying nonprofit through our Dollars for Doers program. Learn more about how Pathward is giving back in our 2024 Sustainability Report.

Pathward encourages employee engagement in the communities we serve, and Dieck is a great example of an employee who is engaging positively to make his community a better place. Learn more about careers and employee benefits at Pathward.
