Empowering Women Award Winner, Kelly Neubecker

NEW BOSTON, MICH. – May 29, 2024 – The Network of Women (NOW) Employee Resource Group (ERG) at Pathward®, N.A. announced the winner of its 2024 Empowering Women Award winner, and this year’s recipient is Kelly Neubecker. Neubecker is Vice President, Senior Legal Counsel and has been with the organization since 2007.

NOW created the Empowering Women Award to recognize individuals who demonstrate extraordinary commitment to embodying the ERG’s mission. These individuals spend their time empowering women and future generations both in their professional and personal lives. They go the extra mile to create a safe space for others, encourage community and develop others. NOW gathers peer-review nominations, then selects a winner.

Coming from humble beginnings, Neubecker credits her mother, a single parent of three, for encouraging her children to focus on their education to improve their economic situation. Neubecker loves Pathward’s purpose of financial inclusion and understands why there is a need for a bank like Pathward.

“I think we were all put here to help each other. That’s our main purpose in this life,” she said.

Neubecker was nominated last year as well as twice this year, and here’s what some of her colleagues had to say about her:

“Kelly has been a big influence in helping me grow and develop within the Pathward family. Since starting at Pathward, she has taught me a lot about the banking world. I continue to look to her for guidance in both my professional and personal life.”

“Our business environment calls on mentors and leaders capable of working in concert with others, able to collaborate in creative endeavors, innovate and inspire and contribute without dominating any task. Kelly is both an exemplary Pathward employee and social servant, her impact has been great during her time with Pathward.”

“Kelly has overcome many challenges in her life, and she continues to use these challenges to help inspire and push other women to be stronger. I am very grateful to have Kelly both as a mentor and as a friend.”

“Kelly is the poster child for emPOWERment! [She] supports both in good times and bad. [Her] leadership qualities are unmatched. Humility and vulnerability are her superpowers.”

“I only wish that I could clone her [Kelly] over and over again. We need more women like her in our world and our organization!”

“I think empowering women is important because empowered women who have fulfilling, productive careers and lives and families and who are part of the community tend to be better employees. They can reach their full potential. It’s amazing what happens when people feel equal,” said Neubecker.

“It’s such an honor, it’s so cool and I’m so happy,” she added when asked about the recognition.

NOW’s mission is to empower women throughout Pathward who are seeking professional and personal growth, and to encourage diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in our communities at large. Any employee at Pathward is invited to join NOW, which now boasts nearly 200 members, and/or any of Pathward’s seven ERGs. Employee Resource Groups are one way Pathward provides intentional methods of helping employees connect with one another and have a feeling of belonging.
