Jan. 20, 2025, marked Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and the 30th anniversary of its commemoration as a National Day of Service. During the week leading up to the national holiday, Pathward honored Dr. King’s legacy with our Volunteer Week on Jan. 13 –17. Thanks to the team leading Pathward’s Community Impact Program and the SCALE (Serving Communities and Linking Employees) and BELIEVE (Black Employees Leading in Inclusion, Excellence, Vision, and Education) Employee Resource Groups, which are open to all employees, there were many in-person and virtual volunteer events where employees could volunteer to give back to their communities and beyond.
Throughout the week, more than 150 Pathward employees volunteered at events with 18 beneficiary organizations in 13 cities across the U.S.
"We joined efforts with BELIEVE to spotlight the essence of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. What a great way to get together to honor his legacy and serve our communities in any way we can,” said SCALE Chair, Gabriela Bastidas Lee.
"Volunteer Week offers us an opportunity to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy by giving back to our communities. By volunteering, we actively contribute to creating a more inclusive and compassionate society. Volunteer week reminds us that each of us has the power to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others,” said BELIEVE Vice Chair, Favourite Ndlovu.
